Customs: Russia’s foreign trade surplus falls 15.7% in Jan–Nov

MOSCOW, Jan 14 (PRIME) -- Russia’s foreign trade surplus fell by 15.7% on the year to U.S. $161.1 billion in January–November 2019, the Federal Customs Service said on Tuesday.

Exports decreased by 6.1% on the year to $385.2 billion in the period. Fuel and energy goods accounted for 62.6% of exports with exports of these types of goods to the non-CIS countries accounting for 67.5%.

Imports rose by 2.3% to $224.2 billion. Cars and machinery accounted for 45.9% of imports.

The E.U. remains Russia’s largest economic partner accounting for 41.8% of the external trade turnover of Russia in the period.
